On behalf of the Governors, the staff, the pupils and myself it gives me great pleasure, as Headteacher, to welcome you to the Deighton Primary School website.  At Deighton Primary we believe that the children’s education is based on a positive partnership between home and school.  We want parents to take an active role in their child’s education and to feel welcome to come in and participate in the life of the school.

We provide a safe, caring, and secure environment where each member of the school community is encouraged to enjoy learning and develop a lively and enquiring mind, the ability to question and discuss rationally and apply themselves to tasks and skills as they strive to reach their full true potential in all aspects of school life. I feel privileged to lead a team of professional, talented and committed staff, who view pupils, parents, governors and the larger community as an integral part of the school team. We work together as one and live our mission statement, which permeates the ethos of all we do:
